Overview
Thrust ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use the Thrust app.
The short version: your financial data — transactions, balances, accounts, budgets — stays on your iPhone. Our subscription processor (Adapty) sees only that you subscribed, never your finances. In Ghost Mode, every outbound network request for financial data is blocked at the system level.
Information We Don't Collect
Unlike other finance apps, Thrust does not collect:
- —Your financial transactions or account balances
- —Your bank account credentials
- —Your personal identification information
- —Your location data
- —Your contacts or calendar information
- —Any analytics or usage data
Subscription Processor (Adapty)
Thrust uses Adapty (adapty.io) as its subscription processor. Adapty handles paywalls, App Store receipt validation, and subscription state across devices.
What Adapty receives: purchase events (subscription started, renewed, expired, refunded); a stable user identifier we generate; standard App Store receipt data forwarded by Apple. Adapty also assigns its own internal profile ID.
What Adapty does NOT receive: your transactions, balances, accounts, budgets, goals, or any other financial data. Advertising identifier (IDFA) collection is explicitly disabled in our code. IP address collection is explicitly disabled. Attribution runs on Apple's privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork postbacks only — no AdServices token, no third-party trackers.
Adapty acts as a GDPR Art. 28 data processor under a signed Data Processing Agreement. Retention follows Adapty's policy; you can request deletion of your subscription profile by emailing [email protected].
Ghost Mode
When Ghost Mode is enabled, every outbound network request for financial data is blocked at the system level. The kill switch covers iCloud sync, paywall fetches, bank-linking — everything. This includes the subscription processor: Adapty is not contacted while Ghost Mode is on (a small set of one-time profile pings before Ghost Mode is enabled is the only exception, and there is no way to send transaction data through that channel).
Connected Mode
When using Connected Mode, your data is synced via Apple's iCloud (CloudKit), which means:
- —Your data is encrypted with your Apple ID
- —Only you can access your data
- —We cannot see or access your iCloud data
- —Your financial data is encrypted and stays under your control
AI Processing
Our AI CFO runs entirely on your device with GPU-accelerated, on-device processing. Your questions and financial data are never sent to external AI services.
Third-Party Services
Thrust uses exactly one third-party service in its default Connected Mode: Adapty (subscription processor — see above). We do not include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or cross-app tracking services.
Thrust does not connect to your bank. There is no bank linking and no screen scraping — you enter your transactions, and they never leave your iPhone. The only outbound connections are ones you start yourself: public blockchain RPCs that read on-chain balances for crypto wallets you add, and public market-data lookups for currency and asset prices. These never transmit your personal financial data; the in-app screens that use them document exactly what is requested.
Vehicle Valuation: when you request a vehicle market value estimate, the VIN you enter is sent to vinaudit.com — a third-party vehicle data provider — to retrieve the estimate. This request is user-initiated and only occurs when you explicitly ask for a valuation. Thrust does not store your VIN on its servers.
Children's Privacy
Thrust is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.

Bug Reports You Choose to Send
Privacy-first doesn't mean nothing ever leaves your phone — it means you decide what does. Thrust never sends diagnostics in the background. The only data that ever leaves your device for support is a bug report you explicitly send by tapping Submit, because you want us to fix something.
It goes to our own server (thrust.finance, run by us — never a third party), and we use it only to reproduce and fix the issue, never for analytics, advertising, or profiling. We keep a report only as long as it takes to resolve, and you can ask us to delete yours any time at [email protected].
A bug report you choose to send includes:
- —App version and build, your iPhone model, iOS version, and language
- —Recent technical logs — structural app state only (feature flags, counts, versions), never your transactions, balances, account names, or amounts
- —Whatever you add yourself: a written description and an optional screenshot
